Slieverue Camogie club was founded in 2007. There was many girls in the Parish who had shown an interest in it so the club was formed.
Over the last number of years the club has been successful at underage and adult level having won County titles at U14 right up to Junior B. In 2017 the adult team found it very hard to compete due to lack of numbers to an approach was made to Kilmacow to see if an amalgamation could be formed and so St Claires was formed. The club has had highs and lows with the St Claires team. Having lost the Junior County Final in 2018 the girls then came back in 2019 and won the title and so putting the team up a Grade to Intermediate for 2020. The first time ever in both clubs history that they compete at that level.
